which course is best for getting government job in drawing and painting field?

Chelsie G 23rd Jul, 2025

The best course for getting a government job in the drawing and painting field is a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a specialization in painting or applied arts. This course gives you the required skills and knowledge to work in government schools, art departments, museums, and cultural centers. After completing BFA, you can also pursue B.Ed if you want to become an art teacher in government schools. Some government exams also have roles related to art and design where this background is useful.

Hello Anushka

It's good that you do not go for coaching, you want to know about the required drawing materials for the exam, so which exam are you referring engineering drawing, or a fine arts-related exam, NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), or UCEED?

Essential Drawing Tools:

Pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B) – for shading and sketching

Eraser (soft) – for clean erasing

Sharpener

Black ballpoint or gel pen – if line drawing is asked

Ruler / Scale (30 cm) – for geometric accuracy

Compass and Protractor – for technical drawing (if allowed)

Color Pencils or Watercolors – some exams allow limited color use

Brushes and palette – only if watercolors are allowed

Set squares / French curves – for precision in curves (rarely needed unless specified)

Drawing board or clipboard – to support your sheet (if exam desks are not flat)

What stream should I choose for college if I am good in drawing and decent in studying

Prachi Kumari 17th May, 2025

Hey !

If you are good at drawing and also okay with studying, you can choose a stream related to arts or design. For example, you can go for Fine Arts , Graphic Design , Fashion Design , Architecture , or Animation . These streams let you use your drawing skills a lot, and you will also learn other subjects.

If you want something more general, you can try Humanities or Commerce with subjects like Economics or Psychology, but with some creative subjects too.

Choose what you enjoy the most and feel comfortable studying.

Hope it helps !

Are we allowed to use scale for the drawing part? and What are the things we are supposed to bring for the drawing part of examination?

Kishan Bhakat 26th Apr, 2025

Hello! Yes, usually you are allowed to use a scale for the drawing part of the exam, but it’s best to check the specific exam guidelines as some tests may have restrictions.

For things to bring, generally you should carry:

  • Admit card/hall ticket

  • Valid ID proof

  • Required drawing materials (pencils, erasers, sharpener, colors if allowed)

  • Scale and other measuring tools if permitted

  • Any specific items mentioned in the exam instructions

Make sure to confirm the exact list from the official notification or exam authority to avoid any issues. Hope this helps!
