You should do MA in Mass Comm and Journalism and also start preparing for NET. After qualifying NET either you can start teaching in colleges or go for research if intereted. The course generally provides teaching and training regarding reporting, writing, editing, photographing etc. Students can opt. for specializations in various fields of journalism such as Sports Journalism , Science Journalism , Environment Journalism , Fashion Journalism , Film Making, Advertising, Corporate communications, Advertising Agencies, Books, and Novels, All India Radio, Photography Companies, Broadcasting Corporations, Press Information Bureau, Radio Telecasting Companies, TV Channels, Websites etc.

I am enlisting a few good colleges which are known for their quality eduaction and placements.

Hi Rutuja.

Greetings.

Congratulations on completing your Bachelor's degree in mass communication. But as you mentioned that you want to bacome a Mass COM. professor in future, it will be better if you pursue PG course in Mass COM. That way you can have better chances of becoming a professor.

Thank you. All the best.

Hi Rutuja, congratulations on completing your bachelors. You need to have a masters degree and then only you can apply for UGC NET as per the norms.

Hello Rutuja,

After your BA/B. Sc, you should obtain a Master's degree. Please sit for entrance tests of the master's programs of universities like Delhi University.

Then, qualify the NET/SET (National/State Eligibility test). That will help you join as an assisstant professor from where you will be promoted to associate and then full professor.

You will also need to obtain a PhD if you want to teach in an university and not just a mere college.

Hi

It is good that you have clarity about your career. Teaching is a great profession. Just to add on to the answer, to become a professor, follow these steps,

1. Complete your Masters. You can also pursue a post-graduate diploma in your preferred specialisation.

2. In your final year, you can apply for National Eligibility Test (NET). This is a compulsory test for lecturership in India (to become a professor). The important thing is that you must secure a minimum 55% marks in your Masters, as this is the eligibility criteria for NET.

3. Secure marks as per NET cutoff. If you pass this test as per cutoff, you are eligible for a research fellowship and work as an assistant professor in University.

Earlier NET was conducted by UGC, but it is now conducted by CBSE. You can check details here-  https://cbsenet.nic.in/cms/public/home.aspx

Al the best
