Yes,  forensic science is an application based study where you have to apply your knowledge of human anatomy, chemistry, even common knowledge to investigate criminal cases.  Now since criminal cases could mean anything that's why forensic science is a multi disciplinary study of subjects like chemistry, biology, geology, psychology, social science, etc. So if you are interested in such type of study, then this is for you. After studying all this,  you will notice your surroundings in a different manner altogether. You will be able to see things in a different way, very carefully deduce things based on your knowledge. And for that you will need to have a lot of knowledge. Forensic science doesn't end with the three years of degree. It is a life long study, inprovising, adapting and executing.
The scope of forensic science is vast in government and private firms. With experience, you could also open up your own consultancy and start your own practice. You could be a detective,  work in forensic laboratory.  You could also go for further specialization like
Forensic Biology
Forensic Serology
Forensic Chemistry
Forensic Toxicology
Forensic Ballistics
Forensic Entomology
Forensic Botany
Strong analytical skills and keen observation are the key to success. You need to be passout of 12th science to get into this course. Following university are good for forensic science. Punjabi University
Bhim Rao Ambedkar University
Manipal University
University of Delhi
University of Lucknow
