nios, national institute of open schooling comes under the recognized education board of india and accepted  by many government and private institutions, however for colleges like iims also evaluate of your academic records along with your entrance exam percentiles, so you need to achieve good score both in 10th 12th and graduation.

Improvement is always for the good and what you are talking about is a situation which might occur. It is not sure but yes some questions can be asked but yes if you address it logically the interviewer be it at the time of admissions to MBA or at the time of Placements post MBA will surely understand.
