If you are in 11th grade and interested in a career in bio-based research, congratulations! You are starting off great by planning early

Where to Start:

1. Working on a foundation in Biology and Chemistry with 11th and 12th grade — and keeping strong fundamentals.
2. Complete a Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Life Sciences.
3. At the end of an undergraduate degree, seek a Master’s (M.Sc./M.Tech) in a specialized area of interest (genetics, environmental biotech, etc.).
4. To pursue research, you will often need a Ph.D., especially for positions in R&D or academia.
