One of the very popular track to get into the research field is via NEST Entrance exam. After class 12th, you can prepare for the exam and give it. If you get selected, you get admissions into NISER and UM- DAE CEBS.
One of the exams is KVPY, via this you get admission into IISER, Pune.
You can also pursue BSc or B.tech and then go for PhD which is also a research field.
