If your percentile is 48 then it is not 48 Percentage it is Percentile means you are 48 Percent above among all students .

SO, your score card says that you have secured 40 percentile in MATHS, 80 percentile in CHEMISTRY and 9 percentile in PHYSICS and hence, your NTA SCORE shows 48 percentile . so that 48 is considered as your total percentile for session 1 JEE MAINS. You should work hard and prepare for JEE session 2 so as to improve your nta score and hence the best of two attempts will be considered as final rank calculation.
