Hey aspirant there are specific ways of different universities to take admission in 2nd year of BTech but generally most of the universities take admission through lateral entries and there is a particular exam which every University conducts for that so I would advise you to check about that exam which your desired University conducts.

A lateral entry student is the one who directly enters into the second year of his engineering. He/she must have completed a diploma in their respective branch to be eligible for the lateral entry program. After completing your diploma, you have to write an examination for enrollment in the institute.
Not all the engineering colleges have lateral entry, some of the colleges do provide.
You need to check, which colleges provide lateral entry. There are Examinations for lateral entry. You have to seat for that.
Some colleges also provide direct lateral entry without any examination.
