As per your mentioned query , if you want to take admission in MBBS in India then you have to give NEET exam. If you crack the exam with good rank then you will get the top government colleges for MBBS. Several private colleges also take admission on the basis of NEET score.

Hello Isha,

To take admission in MBBS in India , here’s a short and clear step-by-step guide:

1. Qualify NEET-UG Exam

  • NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is mandatory for MBBS admission.

  • You must score above the qualifying cutoff (varies by category each year).

    2. Eligibility Criteria

  • 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology , and English.

  • Minimum marks: 50% for General , 40% for OBC/SC/ST , 45% for PwD .

    3. Apply for NEET Counselling

  • All India Quota (AIQ) : 15% of seats via MCC (mcc.nic.in).

  • State Quota : 85% seats through respective state counselling portals.

  • Deemed/Private Universities : Also through MCC.

  • AIIMS & JIPMER : Admission also via NEET.

    4. Documents Required

  • NEET Scorecard & Admit Card

  • 10th & 12th Mark Sheets

  • Category certificate (if applicable)

  • Domicile, ID proof, passport-size photos, etc.

    5. Secure a Seat

  • Based on rank, category, and college cutoffs, you'll be allotted a seat.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Hello aspirant,

The NEET-UG exam, administered by NTA, is the basis for admission to MBBS programs in India.  For government, private, and prestigious medical schools, it is the sole entry exam.  Applicants must register, meet the necessary cutoff, and take part in the counseling process.  While state agencies oversee state quota admissions, the MCC is in charge of All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
