Hello,

To become an Probationry Officer in any public sector bank you have to qualify the banking examination which is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). You have to understand the kind of questions that are asked in this exam and prepare accordingly.

The IBPS PO is prestigious government sector job which is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Various public sector banks and insuarance companies recruit through the examinations conducted by IBPS. These kind of examinations require two things:

1-Speed

2-Accuracy


The questions that are asked in IBPS PO doesn't test your knowledge but your speed and accuracy. Even the level of the questions are of class 10 level. So pretty much everyone is able to solve the questions but people who solve quickly and accurately are selected. This requires a lot of practice.


The eligibility criteria for IBPS PO exam are :

I. Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either -

(i) a Citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

II. Age :

Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years

Relaxation in Upper age limit:

SC/ST- 5 years

OBC (non-creamy layer)- 3 years

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities- 5 years

Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 - 5 years

Persons affected by 1984 riots- 5 years

Ex- Servicemen- 5 years

III. Educational Qualifications :

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Here you can see that just a Graduation degree in any discipline from a Government recognised University is required so you can choose any discipline which you like.

You are interested in Bachelor of Management Studies(BMS) so you can go for BMS. It is a 3 year undergraduate course which will help you in learning various manegerial skills and develop your problem solving abilities. These skills will definitely help you a lot when you join a bank.

As you mention that you want to go for IBPS PO as the career option . So for this you have to go for a bacheloor degree first . It can be any of the bachelor degree you want to persue .As you ask for college I would suggest you to go for a govt. college near by you . As you  mention that you want to go for BMS.  In maharastra you can go for :
