While JEE Mains paper-1 is for B.Tech and BE courses, the JEE Main paper-2 is meant for B.Arch. and B.Plan courses in IIT and other central institutes. So, if you are interested in these courses, you should apply for JEE Mains paper-2.
Now coming to JEE paper-2
Eligibility-
he/she must have passed or appeared in his or her Class 12 level examination in either from a recognized Board.
He/she should have passed his or her Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects with at least 50% as average and 50% in each of these subjects in the examination.
Question paper pattern-
B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN
Paper comprises of 3 sections i.e. mathematics, aptitude, and drawing.
Mathematics and Aptitude Test will be “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only while Drawing Test will be in “Pen & Paper Based” (offline) mode, it is to be attempted on drawing sheet.
While the questions of mathematics and aptitude are objective type MCQs, questions of the drawing are going to test the drawing aptitude of a candidate.
For the mathematics section, the number of questions is 30 carrying 120 marks.
For aptitude section, the number of questions is 50 carrying 200 marks.
For the drawing section, 1 question is divided into 3 parts which will carry 70 marks.
Hence, there are total 81 questions carrying 390 marks in total.
Marking scheme-
For the MCQs,
For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for every incorrect, 1 mark will be deducted.
For the drawing section,
Marks will be evaluated out of 70.
After the result of JEE paper-2
if you qualify the exam, then counseling will be done online, in which you have to fill your marks, preferences etc. on the basis of your marks, you will be alloted the college. there you can fill your preference of college which is in Tamil Nadu
NATA vs JEE Mains Paper-2
While most of the colleges accept NATA score for admission to their B.Arch and B.Plan programmes, colleges such as IIT, NIT etc. accept JEE paper-2 scores.
