His Jee main score is good enough . He has qualified Jee main now a he should prepare for Jee advanced which is to be commenced on 23rd August. Admission to  IIT College will depend on J his  Jee Advanced score  . He can get good nit Institute.. But I think he should go for jee advanced.

Talking about computer science branch , there is tough competition. If he really needs CS branch then he should try in nit

With your score you can apply for all the NITs. However in top NITs it can be a bit difficult to get Computer Science as it is the most preferred branch. However you do have chances of getting Computer Science in the top NITs.
