He can get nit on the basis of rank of jee mains.

IIT is only takes who have cleared jee advance
And through jee mains nit and iiit is alloted.
So if you have cleared jee mins with good marks then yiu will be able to get addmisision in nit or iiit college .
And do jossa counselling.

Hi Bikash Sharma.

The counselling for both IIT and NIT and other colleges under JEE Main and advanced is done in a single page, by JoSAA. So, if you qualify adbanced, you'll be able to give options of IIT. If not, you can give NIT in the options. Admission to NIT is purely based on Main, and Advanced scores have no influence on it.
