First you have to postgraduate in english literature then do M.Phil or appear in NET JRF to qualify for teaching.

You can do graduation in English if you have 50% aggregate marks in class 12 examination.

If you want to become professor in English , you can follow the steps as:
You can complete your graduation in English and can apply for the Masters course in same.
After Masters , you can go for NET JRF exams to apply for PhD program in a good university or you can go for M.Phil program.
At Masters level also , some colleges offers you part time job , so that you can complete your PhD alongside.
Publish your journals and research work and you can apply for the post of professor at various institutions or the same at which you did your PhD .
