Actually,  you may or may not get your city as examination centre,  let's suppose there will be two kvpy centres in your city and 1000 students can be accommodated in these centres and before you select,  1000 or more students already selected your city as examination centre,  in that case you will not get your city otherwise you will get your city as examination centre.
