No, not at all, After dropping one year , there is no deduction in marks of Xii board. Sometimes students have to drop one year due to preparation for entrance exam or any other reason , in that case their board marks remain same and their recent marks for entrance exam are considered.

For admission to hons course or any other ug program, you will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria and age criteria for that year. Some universities may ask for gap Certificate .

If you drop one year after your HS exam and then apply for admission in any college, your marks won't be deducted in admission time.

But i would suggest you if you are taking any drop then try to learn something in that time , so that it can help you in future.
