it is sufficient for lower NIT and lower branch like biotechnology, mining etc for general category but if you belong to SC/ST category 150 is sufficient for good NIT with good branch.

your score should be 260 or more than 260 to get CSE or ME in top NITs like trichy,warangal,allahabadin case you just want any NIT with any branch you may need 130+ for general quota to be eligible

Its depend on your category and state quota. If you are from general category than you won't get any good NIT. You will get lower NIT with lower branch. 

If you are from SC category and have home state quota than you will get CSE in your home state NIT. You will get lower branch of TOP NiTS.
