If you are pretty much satisfied with your college x, then just go for the freeze option and lock your seat entirely.

But as you mentioned, that you are also interested in other colleges in for the rounds you can either go for float or slide option. The float option will provide you a chance for other colleges in different streams, where is the float option will provide you chances in different strains of the same college x.
