Now JoSSA (Joint seat allocation authority) conducts common counselling for NITs/IITs/IIITs admission based on JEE Main and JEE Adavanced rank.So, you will be required to fill your choices in order including all the IITs and NITs and then you will get only one college (either IIT or NIT) based on your rank and your preferences.
