If one has cleared  CMA inter , one needs to appear for a nine month training period of their articleship in order to appear for CA intermediate. once you are able to clear both the groups of Intermediate groups as per your convenience, you become completely eligible to register yourself for the final. so, training period is a must to clear for becoming eligible for CA inter .
