JEE Advanced: Question Paper 2025 | Sample Paper 2026 | Paper 1 and 2 Analysis 2025
Souvik Mondal now the criteria has been changed as around 50,000 students are shortlisted from the number of students appearing in JEE Advanced examination for the counselling round. The cut-off is based on the shortlisting of these candidates only. But problem is that in all the IITs the total number of seats are around 10,500 only so all the 50,000 candidates will not get admission in IITs.
Talking about your category there are around 1600 seats in all the IITs but the candidates shortlisted in your category for counselling are around 7500. As the cut-off in your category, last year was 60 marks so the candidate with 7500 marks would have got around 60 marks but there is no surety at all to get admission in IIT because the number of seats available are less.
So, in order to get admission in IITs, a student of any category needs to get a very high rank.
