Dear Manasa, According to MCC Guidelines, In case of free exit candidate has to report in person to surrender/resignation of the alloted seat to tje alloted college within the stipulated time frame. Failing to do so will not be considered as seat surrendered. So you have to ayyend in person to take a free exit.
