Caste certificate are used to provide certain privileges to bring equality among all the citizens, Hence caste certificate is mandatory for receiving such benefits.

Hence a student applying for WBJEE counselling should provide a certificate for confirming OBC status.

If the Candidate is applying for counselling of any colleges or for any Govt post with in the state then the caste certificate is valid if it is signature by BDO, but if the candidate is looking for Central Govt colleges counselling or Central Govt post the caste certificate needs to be signed by Sub divisional Officer of the relative District.
