JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) exam is for Engineering Entrance Assessment for various engineering institutions admission across India. JEE Mains Scores are of total 300 marks. If you secured good marks in JEE Mains, they will select you in Merit Rank List, where based on your rank you can apply for admission in any engineering colleges irrespective of streams. Categories such as general, SC and ST are considered only college wise. Based on your National rank it cannot be differed in categories.

It can be differed only when it comes to particular institution where you seeking admission. It also depends on institutions whether its a private, government or Autonomous. If you secured 120 marks in JEE Mains. you would fall in between 26321  -  21321 Rank, according to 2020 JEE Mains Merit Rank List data.
