Hope you are doing well.
The required marks varies from year to year. Around the late 1000s to 3000s, 100-150 marks per mark are common. With 198 points, you'd be in the 2500-2600 range (an approx,but fairly accurate guess). However, if you want a rank in that range, I believe you should aim for higher marks. No one knows what will happen on examination day, and even a single mistake might cost you a lot. My brother have a friend who is only 4 marks behind him but ranks over 3000, and he also have friend who are only 8 marks above him but rank around 1800. When you compare the marks, the difference may appear to be more pronounced, although it was only 1-2 questions.
