The probability of getting a good seat will largely depend upon the number of students scoring good marks in that paper through which the seat is being alloted. In any examination the number of seats available through that examination and the number of candidates available through that examination will decide whether you will get a seat or not. You can check previous year closing ranks but it will not help you that much.
So in my opinion, focus on your examination, give your best and leave the rest. You will definitely get a seat if your score is good in that examination. I hope you have got your answer.
