Indian Institute of Technology is basically an engineering college that has all the best teachers,resources and infrastructure that are needed for Engineering. For getting admissions at any IITs you need to first qualify JEE Mains with a certain cutoff marks and JEE Advanced.

The syllabus for JEE mains is only 3 subjects  Physics, Chemistry and Maths. You need to have science stream with Maths subject. The syllabus is some indepth concepts of all the 3 subjects mentioned above.

You need to refer different books for different subjects for example, for physics Arihant publications books are best and HC Verma too for mains, for Chemistryyou can refer cengage. You need to solve previous years question papers. Practice is the key to crack JEE.So you need to work hard immensely to get into any IIT.

The criteria for clearing JEE Mains is you need atleast 75% marks in you 12th board for general category students.
