IIT  is a better compared to NIT in terms of infrastructure faculties and placement opportunities but in turn it is very difficult to get into it is because only top 10000 students are able to do it. with proper strategy and good understanding of concepts you can crack JEE advanced and get into IIT.

Yeah !! The IITs are top first and later NITs are best while to get these colleges you need get the good score in jee main, Getting NIT is easier because jee main while Nit are based on jee advanced

IIT are obviously better not because of infrastructure and the environment but due to the students and the knowledge of the students who go in it.
Students get admitted in it after passing the JEE advanced ( one of the difficult exams in India) with good rank.
You will get sharp and forward brain there.
The Creamy layer of the India's most brilliant brain is in IIT.
But it is not so that NIT is bad there also you will find many brilliant and sharp students.
But you should know that ranking and name matters .
IIT and NIT are like tags and brands.
( like in final race everyone praise the 1 St ranker weather he has work hard or not as much as 2nd ranker did  ).

IITs are any day better than NITs in all aspect, Infrastructure,student quality,placement and everything.
NITs are second fiddle to IITs.
But NITs are also good and are way easier to get as Mains is way easier than advanced.
So if you go by effort vs quality of college analysis.
NITs end up lower than IITs.
So NITs are worth it.
But if you are a GEM.
IIT is your place.
So you can work hard to get a NIT.
But you need hard work plus a bit of talent to be an IITian.
