I'm a graduate in aeronautical engineering and I'm looking for jobs in aircraft design field, suggest how to get into the field.

Aeronautical engineering is the science involved with the study,  design and  manufacture of the  flight capable machine,  or the technique of operating aircraft.  The course trains an Engineer in designing,  constructing, analyzing and testing of commercial or military aircrafts,  missiles and spacecraft.

For job opportunities regarding the aircraft design field, graduates can go through the following government organizations: -

1- Civil aviation department

2- Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) 

3- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL) 

4- Aviation industry

5- National Aeronautical laboratory

6- Defence Ministry

7- Air India

8- Aeronautical development establishment

9- Aircraft manufacturer

10- Defence Research And Development Laboratories

Apart from this,  candidates can also go for higher studies after B.tech in Aeronautical engineering.  The candidates can go for there degree in aeronautical engineering.  Some of the post graduation course are: -

1- Master of technology (M.tech) in aerospace engineering

2- Master of engineering(M.E) in aeronautical engineering

The candidate can also go for MBA programs.  To do the post graduate programs,  the aspirant have to appear for the entrance examinations like: -

GATE, CAT, MAT, TANCET, etc

There are many institute which offers the post graduate degree in this field. Some are: -

1- Indian Institute of Technology

2- Nehru college of Aeronautics and applied science, Coimbatore

3- Indian Institute of Aeronautical engineering,  dehradun

4- Banglore Institute of Aeronautical engineering and information technology, Banglore.

You can get into the various government institutions like , 

  1. HAL (Mostly Aircraft Structures)
  2. NAL (Aerodynamics and Materials)
  3. ISRO- Well ISRO does not have a separate recruitment for Aerospace engineers, you’ll have to look into materials, electronics and structures.
  4. DRDL etc

These usually requires you to clear the GATE exam and clear their cutoff score.
