Dear Student,

GATE exam has nothing to take the branch, anyone from any branch of B.tech can give this entrance exam.

And if you are in the final year of your course then you will be eligible to take part in the entrance as a appearing student.

As you are in you are going to be in the last semester and so you are in the final year of your course so you can also give the GATE as a appearing student.
