So you want to study at an IIM someday, and you're currently in 10th std. Congratulations my friend, you've already chosen a path, not many people at your age are able to do that.
Now, coming to your question.
Step 1- High school => Most of the IIMs will check your scores right from the 10th std while applying for admission. So the first thing you must do is score as much as you can in your 10th and 12th board exams.

Step 2- Graduation => I might have covered this in the previous step itself, but you must try and get admission into a prestigious tier 2 or tier 1 institution for graduation. It matters a lot. Say for engineering, it's a benefit if you are from a NIT and even better if you're from an IIT.
A decent CPI/percentage during graduation is a must. And the better your CPI the better. Also, they check the overall personality of the candidate, so extra curriculars, excellent acedemic achievements, a startup if your own maybe? All this matters.

Step-3=> CAT & Interview  =>  You need to crack in order to get an interview call from the IIMs. Then you need to crack the interview as well. This will be the final step towards your goal.
