Dear student

Yes you should have an obc ncl certificate to apply for the registration of the jee advance.

The category certificate should have been issued on or after 1 April, 2018 in confirmation with the latest guidelines of the government of Indian.

If you don't have obc-ncl certificate before online registration, you can upload a declaration in lieu of obc-ncl certificate

Hi dear,
This is an online process for applying in JEE advance 2018. Apply online. You require OBC certificate during councelling if you get selected in any college. If you don't have certificate then you will be switched to general category.
