Its good that you are assure regarding what you want to go for in deciding your career. Since you are about to go in second year so I would like to advise to prepare for CAT exam also. As it will clear and cover all the fields and domain of MAT exam too. Moreover by taking this test you are expanding your horizon of options regarding college selection. As some colleges only prefer CAT exams and those college which seeks MAT score can take admissions on CAT scores too.

And yeah as suggested by my friend you should start working on your weak areas and try to rectify it. So if you are preparing for MAT exams leave no stone unturned to give your best. Hence start preparing now onwards without hampering your graduation scores.
