You don't need to be sorry asking a question. Placement means, you get placed ( get a job ) in a company with a certain salary package as per your qualification through college only. This may be through any institute or course you are pursuing. Sitting in placement may mean an interview for getting the placement. When you get a job, it is said you are placed.
