Hi Shruti!

You must know all the topics because even one question can decide your rank. The high weightage topics usually (not guaranteed) are:

  • Mechanics
  • Gravitation
  • Properties of Solids and Liquids
  • Electricity
  • Magnetism
  • Optics

Hope this answers your question!

First solve previous years question papers of neet ug, and mark the frequently asked topics and study them thoroughly.
Dont run towards many books. Follow only the books which you have been following always.
Practise set of numericals daily.
Some of the topics which are frequently asked in neet ug are,
Electrostat and electric current, modern physics(semiconductors), wave optics, laws of motion, kinematics, work power energy, magnetism, gravitation, vectors, magnetic effect of current, electromagnetic waves ( 1 quest gaurantee, read only from ncert, uses of different waves)..

Also Do read examples of ncert of textbooks. They are frequently asked in exam.
These topics carry nearly 75-89% of share in physics part of neet ug exam. So prepare them well, you will score 150+ marks in neet ug easily..

Good luck.. prepare well for your exam.

Hie Shruti,

While it is unpredictable to judge what topics can be tested for NEET, based on last year's pattern, Mechanics had the most weightage accounting for 30% of the questions which corresponds to 13 questions worth 52 marks. Electrodynamics accounted for 22% of the questions. So, you should focus on
  • Electrodynamics (Electro magnetic field, Current Electricity, Capacitance etc),
  • Mechanics (Circular Motion, Elasticity & Viscosity, Fluid Mechanics & Properties of Matter,Gravitation,Rectilinear Motion & Vector,Relative Motion, Rigid Body Dynamics etc)
  • Thermodynamics
  • Optics (including wave optics)
  • You can even finish off the smaller topics as they are easier to complete and can be done thoroughly like semiconductors, Electromagnetic Waves and communication etc.
  • However, I would advise you to focus on Biology and Chemistry if your aim is only 100+. Also, please try to score as much as you can. The higher the score, the better.
    • All the very best for your preparations!
