In an election, the successful candidates registered 5,77,500 votes and his nearest rival secured 3,48,700 votes. By what margin did the successful candidate win the election?

To determine by what margin did the successful candidate win the election we have to subtract the Number of secured by his nearest rival from the number of votes secured by a successful candidate.

Margin between them = (5,77,500 – 3, 48,700) = 2,28,800

Hence, the successful candidate won the election by 228800 votes
