Understanding how CUET scores are used for cut-offs is crucial. Here's a breakdown based on general trends:

* Variable Criteria:

* The exact method of calculating cut-offs can vary significantly between universities and even between individual courses within the same university.

* Universities have the autonomy to decide their admission criteria.

* Therefore, it is important to check the specific university and course requirments.

* "Best of" Approach:

* Often, universities consider the "best of" a certain number of subjects, rather than the total score of all subjects taken.

* It is very common for universities to consider the best 4 scores.

* This means that even if you take 5 or 6 subjects, universities will look at the 4 subjects in which you scored the highest.

* Subject Specificity:

* Universities will also consider if the subjects you have taken are relevant to the course you are applying for.

* Therefore, taking the correct domain subjects is very important.

* University Guidelines:

* To get precise details, always refer to the official information bulletins and websites of the universities you're interested in. They will provide the most accurate and up-to-date guidelines on their admission processes.

In summary, while you might select 5 subjects, it's highly probable that universities will primarily focus on your "best 4" scores, and also if those subject are applicable to the course you are trying to enroll in. So, it is very important to check the individual university requirements.

Hii There,

Each participating university uses different criteria for topic combinations and weighting for determining the cut-off scores for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).  In general, universities take into account grades earned in particular topics that are pertinent to the course of study.  Universities usually take into account just specific courses for cut-off calculations, mainly those related to your preferred course, even though you may appear for five subjects in CUET.  It's crucial to review each university's admissions policies to comprehend their unique requirements and make sure you fulfill all prerequisites for the program of your choice.

I hope this answers your question
