You can't changed your category on counseling your category must be same as you fill in the time of registration of neet application form if you do this than The time of verification your application may be rejected.

So it will be best for you register yourself for counseling as general category as you mentioned in applications form.

Hi. No, you can't change your caste to EWS. Once you fill the NEET's form, the category you fill up there is used everywhere. All other caste(s) can change their caste to general category by submitting an application but the vice-versa is not possible. You can try contacting the NEET's helpline numbers or maybe try sending an email. But I don't think that it will help. You have to get through with your general category.
