This is not a binary, this is a spectrum. What I mean by that is that a government college can be a deemed university but a deemed university can be a private college too.

It is best to go for colleges checking both of these boxes, however if you have to choose, choose government colleges.

The reasoning is that government colleges are usually cheap and mostly have good placements whereas a deemed university might not be as cheap even though it has good placements.
