The meaning of recognised university is that the University is approved and certified by the council created by the government of India fir quality education; and conducts it's curriculum and teaching as per the norms of the council. The University is recognise by the council according to the quality of education, infrastructure and other factors. Hope you understand.

Hi,

A recognised university is one which is approved by UGC. There are many universities which are not approved by UGC. The degrees of such University are not approved in any government exam and college admissions. Many other reputation institution also consider this ineligible if you're college is not approved by any government  body.

Hope you find this helpful.
