in the neet Pg 2020, the number of candidates qualified is mentioned as 89549. my daughter also qualified and her rank is 94080. what does it mean

Hi Lakshmi,

The qualifying cutoff for any entrance exam is released category wise but the ranking of the candidates is done in serial fashion. So your daughter was able to clear her category cutoff but at the time of ranking the candidates from all other category is also considered and thus the reason for such gap.

sorry I didn't get your point.Now what is her rank.If 89549 candidates have qualified how can her rank be 94080.

N Lakshmi Sanjana take an example of a test in which the qualifying cutoff for boys is 85 while that of a girl is 80. Now suppose a girl got 81 then as per the cutoff she qualifies in the exam but when the ranking is done it will be for all the candidates. Thus if there is a boy who had scored 82 then he will be ranked above that girl although she has qualified the exam and the boy was unable to make it
