If you are taking about the certificate in the college admission than it will not work because they will verify your income proof and which can be verified only by the income certificate which will be issued by the edisha kendra (  your state government ) after verification of all the necessary documents like ration card, Aadhaar card,your residential proof and verification sign by your M.C. of your ward etc .

So if you don't have income certificate than you should apply and make arrangements for this.

Hello aspirant.There is no problem of keeping ration card instead of income certificate for verification.The main thing is that you must keep white ration card instead of income certificate.No need to worry,yes you can keep ration card instead of income.It is ok.
