In 1st year for BTech you will be taught all the basics that will help you further in your engineering.

So almost all the colleges have a goal to cover all the topics necessary and hence the syllabus almost remains same.

You will be have subjects like basic electrical,physics,chemistry,maths,computer,etc.

NO.Shruti,B.tech syllabus in !st year of varies acocording to college to college.For example IITs don't have subject called Communication(HS) but NITs do.But it does not matter a lot,because !st year of college is a revision of class 11 and class 12 plus basics of each branch.So,feel free and don"t take stress too much.Also,it is easier compared to 2nd and 3rd year subjects.
