According to the official website the Visual Standards are as follows

1. Distant Vision             Better Eye v-6/6              worse eye:V-6/9
2. Near Vision N-5           correctable to 6/6
3. Color vision  CPI(MLT)

So a 6/12 eye vision won't be accepted

It is also mentioned that candidates should be able to recognize white signal,green color as shown by the lantern(Martin) from a distance of about 15 meter
