In your registration for JEE Mains you have filled your category ews and after when the CRL are declared, the counselling process starts. In the counselling you have to show the ews certificate given by central government according to the annexure of Jossa. When CRL are declared, you got two ranks, one in general category and other is in ews category, you are allotted a seat according to your best rank. So, if you got good rank in ews category, then to get admission you have to show your ews certificate during counselling.

EWS certificate is a certificate based upon on reservation for economically weaker sections people means income of the family is less.  Oc candidates will not have any caste certificate so income should be necessary submitted in counseling. If you belong to oBC your caste should be submitted but income certificate should be taken compulsory .
