Neet Rank are AIR and category Rank.

AIR  is the overall rank , or rank which you get among all the total candidates appeared in that particular year.  Whereas category rank is rank which you get among candidates of that category appeared in exam. For example someone has category rank of 5600 from SC category it means he has got 5600 rank among all the SC candidates appeared in exam.

Category rank is beneficial to you if you won't get seat in all India quota . In this way your Category rank help you to get best seat .

No category rank and state rank both are different. Category rank means if you belong to a particular category for example SC Category then your rank among all the SC Candidates of that examination is known as Category rank. Now if you belong to SC category and around 4 lacs SC candidates appearer for that particular exam, then your rank among those 4 lacs SC Candidates will be your category rank.
On the other hand, state rank is the rank which is calculated on the basis of candidates appeared from a particular state. Suppose, you belong to Maharashtra, and there are around 1 lac candidates who also belong to Maharashtra state. So your rank among those Maharashtra candidate will be called as State rank. State rank is released by State Counselling authorities. State authorities ask for state counselling registration where candidates apply and based on their merit obtained in the examination, the state authorities release merit lists. There you can get your State Rank.
