In CSAB counselling, category rank is considered only for reserved category seats. For open/general seats, only CRL rank is used.

In CSAB counselling only the CRL(common rank list) is used for seat. However, category reservations apply,so SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates are considered for seats within their category based on CRL rank,not their category rank.

For example: a reserved seat (like SC) is given to eligible candidate from that category with the best CRL.

Category rank are included in JEE Main mainly for JoSAA councelling.But in CSAB rounds,only SRL matters for allotment, regardless of your category rank.
