A Commerce Degree is not useless at all. It is an ideal option for students who enjoy solving problems and have a interest in financials. If you have a degree in Commerce you can find yourself at well-paying in-demand careers, such as Audit, Economist, Accountant, Financial Advisor.

Also, Bachelor of Commerce Degree does not involve too much of maths. Commerce Degrees do include some maths and some accounting but it’s not too intensive. The subjects in commerce include typically Accounting, Economics and Financial Management, and If you are comfortable with these subjects then you  should be okay to deal with maths.
