In this developing and the artificial intelligence era yes IoT is a good branch  and people with EC and CS background can pursue this .

The scope of IoT in CS is about 40% and covers the Analytics, Big Data, Cloud infrastructure etc.

The average annual salary of a fresher would be around 4 to 6 LPA but with enough experience it would go upto even 30LPA .
