D C Pandey is one of the recommended books for JEE Aspirants. The books is quite well structured containing detailed topics and then at the end subjective and  objective questions. After that questions of the JEE Advanced Format are also provided.

So all in all it is a very good book to prepare topics from. Yes, you must prepare the unit Modern Physics from it, but also consider some other standard book of JEE Mains preparation, so that you don't miss out on any interesting topic.
